Hello! I thought it could be fun to share this photo which @meet_me_on_the_hill took of me, from our recent travels over to India to photograph a beautiful Sikh wedding! If you haven’t already gathered from my website and the many (sorry!) travel-related stories on Instagram, travelling has always been a huge part of my life.

Following on from my younger years travelling between the UK and New Zealand each year to visit close family, I now manage to fit a trip back to NZ each year, photographing weddings between the two countries. And while it’s true that the chance to see friends and family over in the southern hemisphere is quite a bonus of this schedule, there’s also nothing I love more than photographing new experiences, traditions and cultures in different environments. Because at the end of the day, whether it’s in NZ, India, the UK or beyond, that’s what the documentary wedding photography approach is all about - capturing everything as it unfolds and doing justice to the nuances of each day. Neither staged nor scripted, these are the images which will stand the test of time, in years to come.
